MATTHEW NEAL: Sergeant John Cross

Injured in battle and sent to an army field hospital, John, our protagonist, is unexpectedly sent into neutral territory on a reconnaissance mission that quickly gets out of hand.

We met Matt about 4 years ago when we cast him as the bad guy in our short film ‘Revamp’. He trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, and at the California Institute of the Arts – Herefordshire. Amongst other things, he has toured the world playing Petruchio in White Horses’ ‘Taming of the Shrew’, was a founding member of the Shotgun Theatre company along with Tom Hardy and others, recently played the American serial killer ‘Randy Steven Kraft’ in the Sky Vision series ‘Killers’, and appeared as MacDuff in ‘Macbeth’ at the Wimbledon Theatre.

Matt says…
“I have also been hit in the face by a stun grenade and played a 14 year-old Newcastle lad, a role which involved me shaving my chest… but you take the rough with the smooth.

“In 10 years’ time I want to be doing more TV and film as I am greatly attracted to the intricacies and subtleties it requires and instills. I hope this can be done alongside theatre roles I have desired since I was a kid… Macbeth, Richard III, John Proctor in the Crucible and so forth. In all honesty I grew up watching film and this is what fascinates me.

“Though it may be a frustrating life and people will warn you off it, one thing the acting lifestyle is not is dull. In 10 years I have become qualified in swimming, teaching, joinery, mixology, barista skills, boxing, security and fencing. On top of all these skills I have managed never to hold a ‘normal’ full time position for more than 3 weeks in 8 years and have met countless interesting people along the way.

“Long may it continue…”

EVE PEARSON: Celine Van der Bocsh
An unwilling traveller, Celine’s journey is unexpectedly interrupted by an English deserter with an unbelievable story.

Eve wowed us at an audition several years ago when we cast her as the lead in our short film ‘Butchers Blossom’ and again in ‘Revamp’. Born in West London, she worked as a model appearing in campaigns for Diet Coke, Kodak, Schwarzkopf and worked for designers Matthew Williamson and Vivienne Westwood. She danced for Bryan Adams on stage at Wembley stadium during his ’18 till I die’ tour. Eve did her training at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. She has appeared in ‘The Mousetrap’ in the West End, in the feature-films ‘Sky in Bloom’, ‘Gangs of Tooting Broadway’ and ‘A Wedding Most Strange’ and various independent productions. She particularly enjoys performing comedy.

ZACHARY STREET: Private Jimmy Piper

Finding himself inconvenienced by the French, Piper is very pleased to bump into his old friend John Cross.

We first came across Zack on a stage fighting course where he really stood out from the crowd, sword fighting in a plaster cast with a broken thumb. Since then he has appeared in a number of Savage Media productions in various roles. Originally from Deal in Kent, Zack trained at the Court Theatre Training Company, graduating with a BA (Hons) in Acting. He’s appeared in theatre at the Edinburgh Fringe, toured with the RedShift Theatre Company, has a regular guest slot on local radio, and writes and performs his own music.

‘BABY’ JOHN LEE PELLET: Private Obstreperous Hardy

Hardy is saddled with babysitting a coward on a mission that he knows will go badly for his comrades.

Whenever we need a thug, 6’5” John is our first port of call. Lancaster born, John is an old friend of ours who has many years of stage fighting under his belt. Over the years he’s appeared in our productions as a slave master, a genetically altered super soldier, a medieval warrior and a gladiator; he’s worked as a background artist in productions for Discovery; and he recently played Sergeant Moses, an evil Victorian Colour Sergeant, the bad guy in the trailer for the new children’s novel ‘All the Dead Things’. The role of Hardy is his first significant speaking role and he was mildly terrified.

ROLAND BEARNE: Albert Van Der Bosch

Savage Media first encountered Roland in the basement of London’s Trocadero playing a U.S. “Colonial” Marine at “Alien War”, a live action experience based on the popular movie “Aliens” by James Cameron. Trained at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, Roland has appeared in plays from Shakespeare (including the title role in Pericles) to modern, most recently in a London production of Edward Albee’s “Everything in the Garden”, Roland can most often be heard rather than seen with a burgeoning career as a Voice Actor with client credits including: Marvel, Red Bull TV, 20th Century Fox, Studiocanal, Icon and Film 4 to name a few. He can also be found as a 1st person Historical Interpretor at various historic palaces having played historical characters including Henry VIII, Charles II and Cardinal Wolsey at Hampton Court  as well as Edward I at the Tower of London and George II at Kensington Palace. He has been the commentator for the Knights of Royal England Mediaeval Jousting events since 2003. You can check out some of his work here.

HARRY HARROLD: Captain Sears

Harry acted through school and college, until a series of “drying” incidents on stage 20 years ago put him off entirely. Since then, he’s kept his performing to roleplay: both professionally as a simulated patient in communication skills training for the medical profession, and as a hobby. He’s been in a number of trailers and adverts for Savage Media. His roles for us include German army officer, hard-bitten detective, and pirate captain. We started calling him an actor when we gave him his first lines on screen. After playing the part of Sears in Fallen Soldiers, he’s forced to admit we’re right.

Christopher graduated from the University of East Anglia with a degree in film and has tried his hand at just about every on and off screen role he can manage. His on screen roles have mainly been action or just looking pretty, so the Old Guard character suited him perfectly! He has played a number of roles with Savage Media, as well as for National Geographic, Sky Vision, a number of online adverts, short films and a web series. A director in his own right, Christopher is works mostly behind camera, but he is always ready to be in the middle of the action to fulfil his adrenaline addiction.

Jason has been acting since he was a boy, and one of his first roles was playing Rolf Harris in a school assembly about Australia. Since then he’s studied Drama through to degree level and even had a couple of small roles on TV. Now a full-time writer, he keeps his hunger for acting sated through amateur theatre, taking a number of lead roles including Prospero (The Tempest) and most recently the troubled John in Oleanna. A long-time friend of Savage Media, Jason thoroughly enjoyed his first motion picture experience with Fallen Soldiers, and can’t wait for the next challenge.
